Opening Possibilities: Illinois SURS' Breakthrough Program for Diverse and Emerging Managers

Participants heard from members of the SURS and Fairview Capital teams involved in building the program and making investment decisions. There are several unique elements to the program, including features distinct to Illinois pension plans, the history and evolution of the program, and its current parameters. In addition to bringing transparency to the program, its investment strategy, and its criteria, participants also heard from managers who have received commitments from the program and gained insights into their journeys in accessing institutional capital and building successful firms.
